One of the hardest parts of escaping domestic abuse is proving it.
Abusers often control their victims’ devices, making it nearly impossible to gather evidence safely.
What’s often overlooked is how pets, especially dogs, are used to trap victims.
Many owners who are being abused, stay out of fear that their pet will be hurt or lost forever.
I created the Curb It Collar. A dog collar designed to help victims of domestic abuse discreetly gather evidence.
Despite looking like a regular dog collar, it hides a voice-activated recorder — helping victims gather evidence without raising suspicion.
No dogs were harmed in the making of this project.
